Get started with GeroWallet in just a few simple steps and begin managing your Cardano assets.
Download the Extension
Click the download button for your browser. You will be redirected to the Chrome Web Store or your platform's extension marketplace.
Add to Browser
Click "Add to Chrome" or the equivalent button for your browser. Confirm the installation when prompted. The extension will be added to your browser toolbar.
Create Your Wallet
Click the GeroWallet icon in your browser toolbar. Follow the setup wizard to create a new wallet or import an existing one using your recovery phrase.

Released 19 August 2026: the source code went public, the interface was rebuilt, Midnight moved to mainnet, swaps moved to Gero's own aggregator, and two external audit rounds landed. Some features roll out gradually behind flags.

Yes, GeroWallet is completely free to download and use. There are no subscription fees or hidden costs. You only pay standard network transaction fees when sending assets.
A non-custodial wallet means you have full control over your private keys and funds. Unlike custodial wallets (like exchanges), no third party holds your assets. Only you can access your wallet using your recovery phrase, which means your crypto is truly yours.
Absolutely. GeroWallet is non-custodial, meaning your private keys never leave your device. Your recovery phrase and private keys are encrypted locally on your computer and never sent to our servers.
Yes, you can use your GeroWallet on multiple devices by importing your wallet using your recovery phrase. Simply install the extension on each device and use the "Import Wallet" option.
Your recovery phrase is the ONLY way to restore your wallet. If you lose it, there is no way to recover your assets. We strongly recommend writing it down and storing it in a safe place. GeroWallet cannot recover lost recovery phrases.
Yes. GeroWallet pairs with Ledger (Nano S, S Plus, X), Trezor (Model One, T, Safe 3) and Keystone (3, 3 Pro). Trezor now connects over WebUSB with no Bridge daemon, and the swap aggregator works from all three.
Browser extensions update automatically through the Chrome Web Store. Version 2.7 (19 August 2026) is the current release; open the changelog in the wallet or the release notes page to see what changed.
GeroWallet for iOS is in beta on TestFlight with limited seats, with staking, swaps and sends built in. Join the beta from the mobile page. An Android app is in development. Today, GeroWallet runs as a browser extension for Chrome, Edge, and Brave.

That is what cross-device signing in 2.7 is for. Pair the extension with the iOS app by scanning a QR code, confirm a short authentication string on both sides, and the pair is marked wallet-verified. From then on you can choose "Sign on another device" from the Send flow, with per-device signing policies and replay protection. It is rolling out gradually behind a feature flag.
