We’re excited to announce that after months of development and refinement, the all-new Gero Dashboard is officially releasing and will replace the existing GeroWallet desktop extension for all users.
Built from the ground up with a fresh architecture and modern user interface, this new release unlocks a range of new capabilities and provides a vastly improved user experience. Read on to learn about what’s new, what to expect during the transition, and how you can continue to manage your crypto assets with ease.
What Does This Mean for Current GeroWallet Users?
Starting at the end of February 2025, GeroWallet will be automatically updated to Gero Dashboard for everyone who currently has the GeroWallet browser extension installed. When you update the extension, the old GeroWallet version will be replaced, and you’ll gain access to the new Gero Dashboard instantly.
This transition is designed to be seamless:
- Existing wallets, including spending passwords and certain settings, will migrate automatically.
- No additional actions are required on your part.
- The old version of GeroWallet will not be accessible via the Chrome Store - only Gero Dashboard (Stable and Beta branches) will remain. Please note that anyone who does not wish to migrate to the new Gero Dashboard should ensure they have their seed phrase backed up, switch to another wallet, and then uninstall GeroWallet from their browser.
It is not possible to recover your seed phrase from the extension itself, so please make sure you have it stored securely if you choose to opt-out.
Two Branches on the Chrome Store: Stable & Experimental
With this update, we’re creating two branches of the Gero Dashboard on the Chrome Store:
- Stable Branch: This branch will replace the existing GeroWallet extension, ensuring you have a tested and reliable experience moving forward.
- Experimental (Beta) Branch: The Gero Dashboard Beta will remain available for those who want to experience and test the newest features before they’re released on the Stable branch. Join our official Telegram and Discord channels and be part of the community! Our goal is to streamline the user experience while continuing to innovate. The Stable branch will focus on reliability, whereas the Experimental branch will house cutting-edge features so we can gather feedback and quickly iterate. This approach enables us to deliver both stability and innovation to the Cardano community.

We’re thrilled to announce our partnership with Bring, Cardano’s first white-label crypto cashback provider. By integrating crypto cashback directly into the Gero Dashboard, users can earn cryptocurrency on everyday purchases from over 750 top retailers. It’s a unique way to grow your holdings while shopping as you normally would.
3. Cardano Governance Tools
Engaging with Cardano’s on-chain governance is simpler than ever. The Gero Dashboard now lets you delegate to a DRep or choose other voting methods to help shape how network changes and upgrades are implemented. Stay informed and make your voice heard directly within your wallet.

Security remains our top priority. The redesigned Gero Dashboard is even more secure thanks to Cardano Shield. Important Dates and Next Steps
We’re aiming to complete the migration by the end of Febuary 2025. Here’s a quick rundown of what you need to do - if anything - to ensure a smooth update:
- Existing GeroWallet Users: No action is required. Your wallet will automatically update, and all relevant data will migrate over to Gero Dashboard.
- Users Who Wish to Opt Out: Back up your seed phrase, switch to another wallet, and then uninstall GeroWallet from your browser before the transition occurs.
As always, it’s best practice to keep your seed phrase written down and stored securely.
Wallet Compatibility Notice
Please note that the new Gero Dashboard currently does not support integration with Trezor or Keystone Wallet. Rest assured, our team is actively working to enable these wallet options in future updates.
